Our International Adoption Programs

For over 30 years Alliance for Children has placed children for adoption from countries around the world. During this time, we've seen attitudes toward international adoption change -- making it now the first choice of many prospective adoptive parents.

The Alliance currently places children for adoption from China, Colombia, Ethiopia, India, Kazakhstan, Liberia, Russia, and Taiwan. Look through the table below for a quick comparison of our different international adoption programs, and then if you wish, click on a country name to go to the more detailed adoption program page for that particular country.

The Alliance facilitates international adoptions either through the agency's own programs or through networking with other independent agencies. The eligibility requirements are determined by the child's country of origin and may change at any time.

The Process

Once you complete a dossier, it is reviewed by our referral contacts in your child's country of origin. Often, they call us to discuss a referral, because they too want to make the best match.

The next step is what you've been waiting for: you receive your child's photograph and medical report. Most international adoptions require a brief stay in your child's country of origin. Alliance adoptive families are advised of what to take and what to expect. The trip itself is its own unique opportunity, giving you the chance to touch, taste, and feel your child's country of origin -- an experience you are able to share as your child grows.
