Event for our Ecuadorian Families, November 22nd

Ecuador adoptions

Natalia Lopez, from Cuenca, Ecuador, who worked with us for many years, will be at our office at 17 Oak Street, Needham, MA on Saturday November 22nd, 2014 from 1-4 PM to talk about her new service of helping adoptees and their families to search for birthparents.

Recently, at the request of some adoptive families and adoptive young adults, she was able to find the biological families of their children born in Ecuador. Following these happy reunions she now wants to offer our families the same services in conjunction with the Bridge to Ecuador, a new venture she is in the process of launching.

In addition to helping with searches, The Bridge to Ecuador will offer additional programs, including Spanish Cultural Immersion and Homeland Journeys for adoptees or other teenagers who are interested in studying Spanish and learning about Ecuadorian culture. This can be an important step for an adoptee wanting to explore their roots and learn about their birth country.

In the near future, she will be launching the Bridge to Ecuador website where you can learn more about her other programs. If an adoptee or an adoptive family is interested in finding out more, please come and meet with Natalia. She is also planning to bring and sell crafts and handmade items from Ecuador, a great idea for holiday gifts. Please note our new address. We look forward to seeing you!

Special Needs Adoptions from Taiwan

Taiwan adoptions

Alliance For Children is proud to have placed children with special needs born in China, Russia, Taiwan, Vietnam, Colombia, Haiti, Romania, and many other countries with loving forever families in the U.S. We know only too well about the challenges of dealing with special needs—both for the child and the parents.

But we also know about the incredible achievements, the sweet successes, and the bright tomorrows for children who receive the right kind of medical care and have access to the resources they need. We work with the finest doctors, the most wonderful specialists, and the best hospitals to help children with special needs--and their progress has been nothing short of amazing. These doctors have performed life-saving surgeries, completed hundreds of cleft palate repairs, and taken children with no future and given them a reason to have hope. With proper treatment, good care, and the love of a family, these children have the opportunity to thrive and grow.

In May 2014 we received a list of adoptable children from Taiwan who have special needs. Information on the first six children has been translated. Please read about them below and if you think you might consider adopting one of them, we urge you contact Jenn at jtobin@allforchildren.org or by phone: 781-444-7148.

Fang is a happy 5-year-old boy who is on the autism spectrum but learning and improving every day. Fang likes cameras, playing at the park, playing ball and playing games on a tablet.

Tsai is a happy, sweet, polite 7-year-old boy in good health with no major illnesses. His grades in school are fair, as his verbal language is slightly behind. He likes math and is good with matching colors and shapes and is very proud of his drawings!

Lin is a young girl turning 6 with significant special needs. Lin is just learning to stand/walk in physical therapy and is making improvements every day.

Huang is an outgoing and helpful 12-year-old girl. She enjoys basketball, dodgeball, reading and watching TV. She is diagnosed with ADHD for which she takes medication but is otherwise healthy. She very much wants to be part of a family!

Wen is a talkative and affectionate 10-year-old girl who loves to draw! She is diagnosed with mild physical disabilities. She hopes to find a loving and stable adoptive family!

Chih is a shy 9-year-old boy who loves dogs and playing outside. He is a good student who does his homework!

Alliance For Children is accredited in Romania

We are pleased to announce that we recently received our accreditation to place children from Romania. At one time many, many families adopted children from Romania, but in 2001 the Romanian government suspended international adoptions. Now, more than 10 years later, Romania has re-opened, but will only allow adoptions through accredited agencies...which includes Alliance!! Currently this program is open to families of Romanian heritage, although we hope that people who are not Romanian will also be able to adopt children from Romania before too long....so stay tuned. In the meantime, if at least one prospective adoption parent is Romanian, please contact us NOW to discuss our NEW Romanian adoption program. For more information, please contact Megan Chen: megan@allforchildren.org
