Introduction
to International Adoption
For over twenty-five years, Alliance has placed
children for adoption from countries around the
world. During this time, we've seen attitudes
toward international adoption change -- making
it now the first choice of many prospective adoptive
parents.
The Alliance currently places international children
for adoption from the following countries:
The Process
Once you complete a dossier, it is reviewed by
our referral contacts in your child's country
of origin. Often, they call us to discuss a referral,
because they too want to make the best match.
The next step is what you've been waiting for:
you receive your child's photograph and medical
report. Most international adoptions require a
brief stay in your child's country of origin.
Alliance adoptive families are advised of what
to take and what to expect. The trip itself is
its own unique opportunity, giving you the chance
to touch, taste, and feel your child's country
of origin -- an experience you are able to share
as your child grows.
