Taiwan Adoption Program
March 2010: Two Boys Available in Taiwan
- We are now in search of a family for a healthy
4-year-old boy in Taiwan. Photos and a medical
report are available upon request.
- A boy in Taiwan born April 2005 is in good
health and waiting for a family! Medical info
& photos are available.
- We are looking for families for our growing
Taiwan program. We still have spots open for
2010.

Children available for adoption
* Infants and young children up to 8 years of
age are available.
* Children are tested for Hepatitis B, HIV and
VDRL.
Eligibility requirements
* Couples only.
* The minimum age limit for adopting from Taiwan
is 30 years old.
* Parents under the age of 50 are eligible to
adopt an infant.
* Parents who have reached the age of 50 or
more will be evaluated on a case by case basis.
* Parents should be in good physical and mental
health with no criminal history.
* Both parents must have college degrees, and
minimum income requirements apply.
Process before travel
* Apply to INS for advanced approval to be eligible
to adopt from Taiwan.
* Satisfy the laws of the state where you reside.
* Complete a home study by a licensed agency.
* Meet the eligibility requirement of the Taiwan
Adoption Laws and provide necessary documents
to the Taiwanese government.
Time Frame
* It takes approximately 3-4 months to obtain
INS approval, complete a home study and prepare
a dossier.
* Approximately 4-6 months for referral of a
child after dossier is received in Taiwan.
* Photo and medical of the child are available
upon referral.
* After acceptance of the referral, approximately
10 months until placement.
Travel
* One parent must travel.
* Two trips are preferred by orphanage.
* First trip is approximately 1 week.
* Second trip is approximately 7-10 days. Second
trip occurs approximately 4-6 months after return
from 1st trip.
